IDPA matches are held the 3rd Saturday of the month. Set-up starts at 8:00 am and signup begins at 9:30. Matches usually run 6 stages and require 100 rounds of ammo minimum. Bring 150 rounds just to be safe. Matches will be pistol or revolver only following IDPA rules. Cost is $10. Click here for match information.
Occasionally there will be optional long gun stage, which will be held after the pistol match and scored separately. Additional information will be posted here prior to the match, so be sure to check in frequently.

In order for shooters to be able to compete with their peers, IDPA competitors are divided into classifications within each division based upon their skill level. IDPA has a very quick and easy method of classifying shooters.
The IDPA classifier is a special 90 round match. You may continue to compete at Central Alabama Gun Club as an unclassified shooter, but a classification is required in order to shoot at a sanctioned IDPA major match.
Depending on your overall classification score, you will be classified at Novice, Marksman, Sharpshooter, Expert, or Master. A classifier is required for each class of pistol or revolver. More information is available in the IDPA Rulebook on page 70.
If you would like to set up a time to shoot the classifier or for more information, please e-mail David Rawlinson email@example.com
