CLUB ANNOUNCEMENTS
Shoot straight and shoot safely!!
Statement of Concern:
This is an advisory notice approved by the Board of Directors of the Central Alabama Gun Club, Inc. regarding the issue of potential uncommanded discharges of the SIG P320 pistols.
CAGC, Inc. policy is that any legal firearm maybe be utilized on CAGC ranges. Our By-Laws DO NOT allow us to “ban” the use of any legal firearms.
However, recently, more issues and reports of uncommanded discharges of the SIG P320 leave us troubled for the safety of members owning this weapon and persons in proximity.
Additionally, the issue is believed to be serious enough that the national office of the International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) has banned the use of the SIG P320 in ALL IDPA matches under their jurisdiction internationally (See their statement at www. idpa.com.). This, to our minds, represents recognition of a serious problem with this pistol.
We refer you to videos available on YouTube produced by the “Wyoming Gun Project” that outline potential problems with the design of and materials utilized within the fire control chain of this pistol.
Once again, this is an advisory notice. CAGC, Inc. HAS NOT banned the use of this pistol on our ranges. We offer this information so that our members are informed of the issue and are safe on our property.
Thank you for your attention.
