Dear Members: 

I have attached a suggested By-Law change related to the addition of the Immediate Past President (as a voting member) to the Board of Directors of CAGC, Inc.

The members attending the September meeting were verbally notified of this proposed change at the meeting.

The By-Laws require that the Board send to the membership a written notification of the proposed By-Law change 15 DAYS IN ADVANCE OF THE MEETING AT WHICH THEY WILL VOTE ON THE PROPOSED CHANGE. The By-Laws further state that the members present at the voting meeting shall constitute a quorum for the purpose of the vote to be held. So, if you wish to vote, be at the October meeting.

Rationale: CAGC has become large over the past ten years. The decisions made by the Board now affect many more members than in the past. The Immediate Past President can serve as an invaluable resource to the Board (which could possibly consistent of largely new officers) when items of concern come before the Board. Think of the position as the “Voice of Experience” if you will.

Concern was expressed that the even number of Board members might result in irresolvable votes split down the middle. One Board member wisely commented that if  “we couldn’t agree to vote one way or the other, the whole thing was probably a bad idea”. The Board agrees with this belief. We have faith that we will be able to conduct business successfully with a six member Board.

Please review that proposed By-Law change below and plan on attending the meeting on October 4^th, 2025 at 0900 to cast your vote.

ARTICLE VII

OFFICERS

A. The officers of the Club shall be the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Immediate Past President, and one (1) additional Board member. These five (5) six (6) individuals will constitute the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors (with the exception of the Immediate Past President) will be elected by secret ballot, by a majority of the members voting during the Annual Meetings. Officers may hold a particular elected office for not more than three (3) consecutive years. Should a member of the Board of Directors resign his/her elected position, the Board of Directors shall appoint a member to serve out the remainder of the term.

Club Meeting:  Oct. 4th . 09:00.  New members:  Fee to join:  $208.00 ($100 initiation fee + $108.00 annual dues) cash or check.  Oct. joins will be paid until June 1, 2026 when renewal is due.

1.    On Club meeting days the gate opens for visitors and prospective new members. Membership applications can be completed and submitted for membership at the meeting. New members join fee: $100.00 initiation fee + prorated annual dues determined by the month you join (check or cash only).
